About CODE IGNITER-2018
The Purpose of the competition is to highlight the opportunities & challenges in the Computer Science & Information Science Engineering and to provide a forum to exhibit the technical challenges implemented in Computer Technology & related areas. This creates a platform for students of various streams of IT to showcase their talent, present their own work, share and exchange ideas with their counter parts from all over India with Professionals & Academicians.
It consist of four events

Code Debugging
-
Technical Debate
-
Project/Business Innovation ideas.

Technical Poster presentation
Winners will be awarded with attractive cash prize & certificates.
Rules & Regulations:
Note: Judges decision will be final. No further arguments will be entertained.
1.Coding
Rules:
The contest consists of three rounds with elimination of students in each round.
1) Round I: Online test
2) Round II : Blind Coding
3) Round III: Participants need to solve the proposed problems
General:

This is an individual event.
-
Participation for this event is open for second year and above for Engineering students from any discipline / branch.

You need to register for the contest as a participant on the GSSSIETW Portal by providing necessary personal data, before last date of registration.

Decisions of the Judges are final
2. Technical Debate
Rules:
-
Number of participants in a team will be Four.
-
Each team is selected into “for group” or “against group“through lottery system.
-
Time duration of 5 minutes is given to the team members to prepare for the given topic, before the commencement of Debate.
-
Each team will be provided a time constraint of 3 minutes to present their arguments.
-
At the end of their Debate team members should give a closing statement.
-
There cannot be any interruptions, Speakers must wait for their turns.
Judging criteria
-
Organization & Coordination: Main arguments and responses are outlined in a clear and orderly way with coordination in team.

Use of Argument: Reasons are given to support the resolution.
-
Use of cross-examination and rebuttal: Identification of weakness in Negative team's arguments and ability to defend itself against attack.
-
Presentation Style: Tone of voice, clarity of expression, precision of arguments all contribute to keeping audience's attention and persuading them of the team's case.
3. Project Innovation Ideas:
Rules:
-
Team should consist of Maximum of two members.
-
Only one idea per team is permitted.
-
Open to all Branches of Engineering & any Degree in Computer Science, Management Students.

Each team should present an innovative project/business idea.
-
Challenges and relevance of the problem should meet societal needs and must contribute to the economic development of the nation.

Students should send the abstract of the ideas before 4th September 2018 to code2018ise@gmail.com.

Students need to prepare presentation of their innovative business ideas (should be 10-12 slides) on the day of event after the acceptance of your ideas
Competition Judging Criteria
The Project Presentation will be judged using the following criteria:

Technology: Relevance of the project in the present technology scenario.

Communication: The team's ability to effectively convey to the audience about the project objectives, approaches and conclusions.
-
Design Approach & Methodology: The team's ability to achieve its stated design objectives through implementation with technically sound strategy.\

Applications: The team's ability to highlight the possible outcomes and applications.

Business Plan: Summary for commercialization of the idea
4. Technical Poster Presentation
Rules:
-
Number of participants in a team will be two.
-
Time limit to prepare poster is 30 minutes.
-
Participants have to design posters on the topic by picking the tokens.
-
Poster should be designed using relevant domain skills.
Competition Judging Criteria
The poster presentation will be judged using the following criteria:
-
Technology : Usage of recent technology in presenting the poster for the topic.

Design approaches : The design approach should apply visual overview such as frames, arrows, and colors in the poster.
-
Understandability in the absence of the author: Judges should be able to analyze the Posters details, without revealing much about the topic.
